Submission Guidelines for Authors

Manuscript Preparation

  1. Articles prepared using LaTeX are preferable. However, articles prepared in Microsoft- Word format are also acceptable. Please download the Latex Template or MS Word Template. The PDF of the Template can also be downloaded. 
  2. Figures should be in JPG/PNG/PDF format only with good resolution. The file size of a figure should preferably be less than 1 MB and the PDF of the manuscript should be of less than 10 MB size. Axes labels, legends in figures should be clearly readable without zooming in.
  3. Title should have maximum of 80 characters including space and the abstract should be within 200 words.
  4. Authors need to provide 3 to 6 keywords appropriate for the article
  5. The body of the text should be divided into different sections preferably starting with “Introduction” and ending with “Conclusions” (optional). Sections should be numbered 1, 2,  …, while sub-sections of section N should be numbered as N.1, N.2, ….
  6. Tables, Figures should be numbered using 1, 2, 3, ... in order of their appearance. They should have appropriate captions to make them self-explanatory. All Tables, Figures should be referred in the text as Table 1, Figure 1 etc. in the text.
  7. Equations should be numbered as (1), (2), .... and be referred as equation (1), equation (2) etc. in the text.
  8. The article length should preferably be less than 6000 words.
  9. Acknowledgements and Appendices, if any, should appear after the last section of the manuscript after “Conclusions”. While “Acknowledgements” is not numbered, Appendices should be numbered A, B, C, etc. Equation, figure/table within Appendix A (every figure/table should be referred there) should be numbered (A.1), A.1, respectively.
  10. References should appear at the end.

Scientific and Ethical Standards

  1. The content of the manuscript should be original, presentable and relevant to physics education.
  2. Listed authors should include only the ones having non-trivial contribution to the manuscript.
  3. All listed authors should have consent for the submission of the manuscript to the journal
  4. The manuscript is neither published nor submitted elsewhere.
  5. Plagiarism is not acceptable. Overlap with own articles is also considered as plagiarism.

Submission and peer review

  1. Articles should be submitted via email to editorpjpe@gmail.com. Authors must submit a pdf of the manuscript and a zip file containing all the source files like tex/doc/bib file, figures etc. Authors can also submit their manuscripts through the journal website.
  2. The submitter should be the corresponding author as indicated in the manuscript.
  3. By submitting, authors agree to the journal policy.
  4. Editors will send the manuscript to expert reviewers for peer-review. However, editors have the right to reject an article without review, if found unsuitable.
  5. Authors will be given 30 days of initial deadline to respond to reviewer’s comments. Authors need to submit the revised manuscript and a separate document responding to the reviewer’s comments and include a summary of changes. The 30 days of initial deadline can be extended upon request.
  6. After the acceptance of manuscript, a proof will be sent to the corresponding author. Authors will have 3 days of time to respond to the proof related queries and make minor changes.
